HR-VIP 3G with/sa wifi-router?

Hello to you everybody!

I am a frequent visitor to Croatia since 20 years back. I hope someone can help me with my HR-VIP 3G internet problem :)

I am sure this thread has already been discussed, but I'm not that confident with my Croatian to have a discussions about technical problems and solutions yet :)

I bought a HR VIP 3G modem (Huawei E173) that I want to connect to a wifi-router. The wifi-router I have is a Dovado 4GR.

Since the HR VIP modem requires a program to open when connected to a computer my question is if it works with this wifi-router?
If not, what do i need to buy so that I can get a wifi-signal to use all over the house?
Should I get another 3G modem and just insert the SIM card?

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Thank you kindly!

Robert

Pozdrav svima vama!

Prijedlozi?

Hvala vam!

HR-VIP 3G with router?

Hello friend,

I think that it would be the best to buy a 3G modem with wi-fi, because you can't pair that Huawei with your current router.

I'm not sure what device is the best for you to buy, maybe someone else can post and tell you.

Have fun in Croatia.   {#}

Wow, thanks for the fast response!

I was thinking about that too, but since I already have all this equipment I was hoping they would work together. :)

I have tried to call HR VIP, but they could not answer that for me and they didn't have any solutions.

Anyone that has a solution on how this could work? :)

It is always fun in Croatia! <3

  People in HR VIP are rarely able to help you, they're mostly college students on a summer-job.

What I can suggest you is to buy something like this. It's a cheap 3G router which should be enough for your needs. It should work with HR VIP sim card, but I would wait for someone to confirm it, because I've never used that combination.

Re: HR-VIP 3G with/sa wifi-router?

I don't know will your combination work. I had a different combination VIP ZTE K3765+Airlive Air3GII and it worked just fine.

Dovado support page http://www.dovado.com/en/support/modems says that dovado supports unbranded E173. Maybe you can try to unlock E173?

Or you can just use some unlocked smartphone, put vip sim card in it and turn on wifi hotspot.

It should work.

I can confirm that TP-LINK TL-MR3420 works with that 3G modem. I was using that combination last year.

Maybe it's better option because it has stronger WIFI with external antenna.

HR-VIP 3G with router?

Yes, HR VIP support was not very knowlegable. Then again, I was a college student too once {#}

Thanks alot for ALL your support!

I will get on of the TP-links in that case. Unlocking and hacking is not my strongest points {#}

XXX-Man, So it will just be "plug-and-play" then if I get the TP-LINK TL-MR3420?

Thanks, once again! :)

After you plug 3G modem in the router you will have to go to router settings and enter APN for connecting (I think it's data.vip.hr). You can see it all explained in router User guide.

In case of any problems, I can help you and explain what to do in details.

You can find User guide here and read it before buying if you want:
